About San Gorgonio Memorial Park

San Gorgonio Memorial Park was founded in 1905 when five Banning citizens purchased 3.74 acres of land originally owned by the Southern Pacific Railroad in the late 1800s. The founders incorporated to form the Banning Cemetery Association, and all five founding members are buried in the cemetery. In 1931, the Banning-Cabazon Cemetery District was created. The cemetery has since expanded to over 25 acres of hillside property within the City of Banning, offering a natural, serene setting with the San Gorgonio Mountains as a backdrop for visitors paying respects to loved ones.
