Privacy policy

We keep this deliberately small:

• Usage analytics. Privacy-respecting, aggregated data about how pages are used — which pages load, rough device and referrer information — to understand what helps and to keep the site fast.
• Error diagnostics. Technical details when something breaks, so we can fix it.
• What you send us. If you email us or submit a form (for example, a provider waitlist), we keep what you send in order to respond.
• Memorial accounts (optional). If you create or contribute to a memorial, you sign in through our authentication provider, and we store what you choose to add — your name, messages, and any photos or contributions.
• Purchases (optional). If you order flowers or make a memorial contribution, payment is handled by our third-party processor; we do not store your full card details.

To operate and improve Calla: to run and secure the site, understand what content is useful, respond to your messages, and — where you've chosen to — power memorial pages and process orders. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Calla — including analytics (such as PostHog and Vercel Analytics), error monitoring (Sentry), authentication for memorial accounts, and a florist and payment partner for optional purchases. These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't run an email gate or require sign-up to read anything. When you contact a funeral home or provider through Calla, you reach out to them directly — we are not a lead broker and we don't sell your details to providers for cold outreach.

You can browse Calla without an account. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold, or to opt out of certain analytics. To make a request, email us and we'll help.

We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — analytics in aggregate, correspondence for as long as needed to help you, and memorial content for as long as the memorial is active or until you ask us to remove it.

Calla is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as Calla evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above.
