Pasadena Mausoleum

Mountain View Cemetery & Mausoleum is one of the few remaining family-operated cemetery/mortuary properties in Southern California, with roots established in the nineteenth century. The cemetery was founded in 1882, the mortuary in 1959, and the mausoleum—considered the masterpiece of renowned architect Cecil E. Bryan—was added to the property in 1971. The mausoleum is distinguished by its 180-foot Great Gallery featuring an ornate vaulted ceiling hand-painted by artist Martin Syvertsen with a frescoed depiction of the story of Christianity, complemented by stained glass windows from Judson Studios and surfaces of more than 64 varieties of Italian marble. The organization combines historical significance with modern technology and maintains grounds open 365 days a year with professional funeral staff available 24 hours a day.
