Napa State Hospital Cemetery

Napa State Hospital was established in 1872 and opened on November 15, 1875, in response to overcrowding at Stockton Asylum. It is the oldest State Hospital still in operation in California. The Hospital was once self-sufficient with its own dairy, poultry ranches, vegetable gardens, and farming operations. It currently serves approximately 2,335 employees providing care and services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to patients with civil and forensic commitments. The facility does not accept voluntary admissions.
