St. Anne's Cemetery

The Porterville Public Cemetery District was formed in 1924 and operates under the California Health and Safety Code regarding public cemetery districts. The District is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Tulare County Board of Supervisors. The District maintains approximately 78 acres of developed land and 74 acres of undeveloped land across eight cemetery sites—five located in Porterville and three in the Springville area. The cemeteries include Porterville, Home of Peace, Hillcrest, Saint Anne's, Vandalia, Springville, Crabtree, and Duncan McDonald. The District employs a full-time manager, supervisor, secretary, and seven additional employees responsible for burial services, grounds upkeep, and installing military veteran markers. As an Endowment Care Cemetery, the District collects additional funds with each burial reserved in a separate fund for future maintenance and upkeep. The District has recently installed three new niche walls for cremation burials.
