After graduating, she worked for Hites Funeral Home in Henderson, Nevada and Hatfield Funeral Home in Sierra Vista, Arizona since 2001, where she was involved in every aspect of funeral service and served as crematory operations specialist. She became highly proficient at serving military veteran families. In June 2006, she joined Smith Funeral Home in Davis, and in December 2010, she purchased the funeral home from the Wiscombes.
