The fee includes personnel available 24/7 to respond to an initial call for service; your first meeting with a funeral director (also called an arrangement conference); coordination of clergy, cemetery or crematory, and other parties involved with the final disposition of the deceased; and clerical staff for securing and recording the death certificate and disposition permit.
Yes. While we can and often do provide these services ourselves, we welcome congregational groups that wish to independently perform ritual cleansing (Taharah), dress the deceased in traditional burial shrouds (Tachrichim), and provide a spiritual guard (Shomer) who watches over the deceased. A Shomer can visit our facilities during open hours or outside our working hours, if arrangements are made. Sinai also has Shomers available for a modest fee.
Families may choose an immediate burial (no service, no witness, no family present) or direct cremation (no service; off-site cremation occurs directly). These options include the Basic Professional Service Fee and do not incur additional charges unless other services are requested. These selections do not include visitation, funeral service, merchandise, cash advance items, cemetery or crematory fees, or taxes.
Yes. Sinai Memorial makes ritual cleansing (Taharah) and dressing in traditional burial shrouds (Tachrichim) available at no cost. Other preparation options—a temperature-controlled holding room, embalming, or dressing—are available for an added fee and will be discussed during the arrangement conference.
