If your loved one was under hospice care, contact the hospice nurse who will pronounce the death and call Simplicity Cremation at (888) 959-9101 to dispatch staff. If not under hospice care, dial 911 to notify law enforcement, who will pronounce the death and determine whether the case requires coroner involvement or if Simplicity Cremation can proceed.

The nurse or physician will pronounce the death. Cremation paperwork including the required release form must be completed before staff dispatch. Ask the facility to contact Simplicity Cremation at (888) 959-9101. Once written release from next of kin is received, staff will be dispatched.

After arrangements, staff work to bring the loved one into care as soon as possible. Registration of death typically takes 2 to 7 business days with local county and state health departments. Cremation cannot proceed until registration is complete and the California Disposition Permit is filed. Cremation typically occurs within 10 days after registration and permit receipt. Cremated remains are released by appointment after cremation.
