About Quinn Shalz Mary
In 1999, Michael K. Shalz, a second-generation funeral director with a bachelor's degree in mortuary science from the University of Central Oklahoma, partnered with his father-in-law General John "Jack" Quinn to establish Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home in Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Mike brought extensive experience from roles at Muehlebach Funeral Home in Kansas City and Service Corporation International, while General Quinn, a 1952 West Point graduate with a 34-year military career including three combat tours in Vietnam, contributed leadership and community service dedication. Both founders passed away in 2006, and the funeral home's legacy was carried forward by Mary Quinn-Shalz and managing director Darlene Smith. In September 2024, Darlene purchased the funeral home and became its owner, continuing the mission of compassion and personalized service.
