Shalz, a second-generation funeral director with a bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science, and his father-in-law General John "Jack" Quinn, a West Point graduate and retired Army officer with 34 years of military service. The firm was built on a foundation of compassion, professionalism, and community spirit. Following Mike and Jack's deaths in 2006, Mary Quinn-Shalz assumed ownership with Darlene Smith as managing director. In September 2024, Darlene Smith purchased the funeral home and became its owner, continuing the legacy of personalized services and community support established by the founders.
