About Mountain View Mortuary & Cemetery
Mountain View Mortuary & Cemetery is one of the few remaining family-operated cemetery/mortuary properties in Southern California. The cemetery was established in 1882 and the Mortuary in 1959. The property also houses Mountain View Mausoleum, acquired in 1971, which was designed by architect Cecil E. Bryan as his masterpiece. The mausoleum features a 180-foot-long Great Gallery with hand-painted frescoes by artist Martin Syvertsen depicting the story of Christianity, stained glass windows by Judson Studios, and surfaces made from more than 64 varieties of Italian marble. The organization maintains a tradition of service established in the nineteenth century while offering personalized service through modern technology.
