About Covina Veterans Field Of Valor
In 2011, the Pentagon estimated that 20% of veterans would be homeless. In response, the Covina Rotary Club started planning Field of Valor and launched the first field in 2012 in collaboration with the Veterans Administration, local law enforcement, and community support. Since inception, the organization has taken over 70 homeless veterans from living under tents and placed them into housing, where they remain and are productive members of society. Additionally, Field of Valor has helped over 550 veterans stay in their homes by paying rent, utilities, and various other bills on their behalf. The project has grown from a Rotary Club initiative into an entire community event with its own Foundation. One hundred percent of funds raised go directly to assisting local veterans, families of deployed military, and the Ontario USO.
