About Coker-Mathews Funeral Home
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home was founded by L.O. "Jim" Coker, Dowell Mathews, Paul Mathews, and Emma Dell Mathews, who served the community with dedication. The current President, Butch Mitchell, began working at the funeral home in 1966 while in high school, became a licensed funeral director in 1974, and has been there since. His family became owners in 1988. The funeral home employs more licensed funeral directors and support personnel than any other funeral home in the area, which they note means fewer problems before, during, and after the funeral.
