About Calvary Cemetery and Funeral Center

Calvary Cemetery and Funeral Center was established and dedicated in 1953 by Bishop Robert Armstrong and is the second-largest Catholic Cemetery in the Diocese of Sacramento. Located on Verner Avenue just off Highway 80 and Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights, the cemetery spans more than forty acres of rolling hills and green lawns with views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Its prominent feature is an altar-shaped monument at the base of a large marble crucifix, known as Mount Calvary. The facility serves the greater Sacramento area's Catholic and Christian communities and holds the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass every Saturday at 10:00 AM in the Mausoleum to pray for the more than 14,000 faithfully departed souls buried there.
