What to Expect
Call California Cremation Society at 1-408-998-4066. We pick up and transport your loved one to our facility. The body is cared for in a refrigerated holding facility until cremation. Our staff prepares death certificate, disposition permit and other necessary records. Cremation takes place individually. Cremated remains are taken to our office in the appropriate urn (usually 7-10 days after death). Final disposition is your choice: release the ashes to a designated person or scatter in San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge.
If death occurs at a Hospital, Hospice, Nursing Home, or Assisted Living Center
The Nurse or Physician will make the pronouncement of death. Ask the Nurse to contact California Cremation Society at 1-408-998-4066.
If death occurs at home
Call the local Police. They will determine if the Coroner needs to be involved and will authorize us to come and bring the body into our care.
