Butte County Veterans Memorial Park - Oroville

Butte County Veterans Memorial Park is a nonprofit, all-volunteer community project that has been under construction for over 20 years to create a memorial space honoring all of Butte County's veterans. The park is being built to provide "a place for families to remember loved ones who never returned home from military service." In December 2023, the project received a $1,000,000 grant from Congressman Doug LaMalfa to complete construction. The park features monuments to Butte County's 2 Medal of Honor recipients, a "Secret War" monument honoring the conflict in Laos, a bronze bugler statue, memorial tile walls, and monuments displaying the names of 575+ service members with ties to Butte County who never returned from military service.
