Burial at Sea

Burial at sea is the old tradition of burying human remains in the open waters. The United States Navy carried out this tradition as a memorial service for veterans. It has gained popularity among civilians in the form of full-body burials or scattering ashes across the ocean. Sea burials will not only be a memorable funeral for your loved ones but also friendly to the environment. Biodegradable caskets and urns are eco-friendly and suitable for green burials at sea.

Water burials can be done in two ways: full body burial and scattering ashes. In the latter, we spread the cremation ashes, but in the former, we bury the whole body in the ocean. According to the Environmental Protection Agency burial at sea regulations, the whole-body burial at sea in California should be performed at least three miles off the coast.

We use three types of containers for the sea burials: Caskets, Coffins, Shrouds. All the materials used in full-body burial at sea are biodegradable. You can choose different sea burial coffins or caskets that are eco-friendly and biodegrade in 3-6 months.

The funeral can be an attended or unattended ceremony. The unattended funeral will be held at the shore with friends and family of the departed watching. The captain will sail the boat to the burial location and do the burial on sight while people witness at the shore.

Our vessels can carry a group of 1-6, 7-12, 13-18 and 19-25 people. We can carry more people on board if requested.
